Research Wiki Passes Milestone
The number of free family history research articles available at “Research Wiki” now tops the 70,000 mark.
Research Wiki is part of the Familysearch website, which is also widely used to access scanned and indexed images of records from around the world, as well as the extracted details that used to appear separately in the IGI.
Searches on Research Wiki can be made by looking for particular places, types of sources and research methods. Users are encouraged to share their knowledge with others by writing fresh articles and augmenting ones that are already online. The site is well-stocked with maps, videos and illustrations. Familysearch is based in the USA so its video commentaries tend to have that accent, but a substantial proportion of the material on it relates to the British Isles.
