Pupils set to discover 1911 census online
"Free access to the 1911 census is being provided to every school in England and Wales from today [3 May], as part of the biggest census project ever completed within education.
The collaborative project will give 15 million pupils a chance to delve into the history books and research their local area to see what life was like in 1911 and before. There are 5,000 images available to view dating from the 1850s, along with over 80 film clips from the early 20th century and 36 million census records from 1911.”
